Looking Back On 2012
Sometimes I think that 2012 has been the longest year of my life - even though I literally missed half of it lying in bed out of it. I learned a lot - about myself, my faith, my family, friends and even strangers. I also learned just how little I really know! Of course your whole world changes in a millisecond when you come face to face with what you believe to be the Grim Reaper. My first thought was "O My God - I'm not through yet!" I was terrified until I found my Faith. With the loving help and encouragement of family and friends and doctors and God, I slowly recovered ( and still am recovering ) and here I am at the end of 2012. Alive and well, with more appreciation of the world around me than I ever dreamed was possible. Every second is a blessing. Never fear, I'm still crazy goofy me, but somehow I'm happier.
Enough of that - a new year is coming quick - I have a new lease on life! Thanks to all the people that helped me through 2012 ( you know who you are ).
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Tree
This was inspired by an article in Somerset Studio Nov.- Dec 2012. The piece was done by Janet Bergen Movahhed. I fell in love with it and had to try it myself.
It's a collaged canvas with distressed Christmas music, various pieces of cloth and lace, vintage buttons, safety pin, and paper flowers I made.

Thanksgiving is past ...
Thanksgiving was full of good food. Tom and I had a wonderful meal, (even though I still have no oven). You would be amazed at what you can cook in a tiny toaster oven! The only thing missing was the rest of my family and believe me - I do miss them! ALOT!
So now it's time for getting ready for Christmas! My favorite time of the year. The lights are all up on the outside of the house and in the windows. I decorated the tree on Thanksgiving day , and little by little I'm getting the rest of the decorations up and working on Christmas art projects. Here are some photos I took with my phone.

Coffee Mug
I painted myself a coffee mug. I'm still waiting for my oven to get fixed so I can fire it.
It's cheerful I think.

Fall Garden
I can't work real well in a garden right now, so I decided to plant my fall garden in pots. It is sooo much easier. I've got a mix of Miracle Grow potting soil, Cow Manure, and Peat Moss. I've planted Leaf Lettuce, Romaine Lettuce, Broccoli Raab, Kolrabi, Green Onion, and some Garlic. Fresh Salad in December!
Tom's got a lot more onions and some broccoli planted in his garden with the leftover peppers.

Fall Candle Decoration
I added this to my fall decorations on my hearth this year. Jody, this is the vase you guys sent me for Mother's Day. We bought a new fireplace screen with glass doors - I'll take a photo later.

Getting Caught Up (hah!)
I can believe it's been so long since I've posted! I've been trying to get caught up on some things I started and never finished. My room was getting overrun with stuff and no room to work on anything new!
I started on a Christmas garland last December. Since it was getting close to Christmas I thought I would finish it first. I finally did towards the end of October.

I guess you could call this an 'action' photo. |

She's Done!
The pattern and idea for this doll came from a Cloth Paper Scissors article by Nola Hart.
I love the way this came together and want to make more!
Tom named her Liz because she has one leg longer than the other. I say she's Liz because of the ruby slippers.

Oklahoma Rock
I picked this up the last time I was in Oklahoma. It's one of my favorite rocks in my flower beds. I got it on E785 Road. Take the Welling Road, cross the creek and go left.

Ginger Blooms
A friend of mine gave me some ginger roots a few years ago. I planted them (of course) and they came up and made real nice plants. I thought I had lost them this year because they were real late coming up after the winter. So now they are beginning to bloom.
I really don't know what they will look like when they are fully bloomed.
